Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
